You can nuke with Aftershock/Channeling type stuff, or heal with Restoration/Communing/Wards. It's a pretty good combo really.

Go with fire, cuz fire have higher energy usage

Spawning Power 16
Restoration 4
Fire Mastery 12

Attuned Was Songkai
Flesh of My Flesh
...
And the rest is your favorite fire spells

Although I really don't recommend Rt/E, E/x can be far superior than you.
Do what Rt do best! RITUALS!!

I used a rit/E during GVG (my normal secondary is /N), but i noticed that a ritualist around a strategic area, say a flagstand, can be extremely effective with protective spirits and wards, effectively annulling damage. Plus, the added benefit of wards is that they stack with displacement (I do believe) so it seemed to make my displacement spirit (which is usually pretty broken) to last quite a bit longer than usual.

I dont know if this helps, but try it out, you might like it.

I have gone to ritualist/elementalist.

They are un beleiveable as a protector.

7 Earth
12 communing
9 restoration
14spawning

Ritual lord (Elite)
Boon of creation
Generous was tsungrai
Shelter
Union
Displacement
Lively was Naomei ( not needed...lol )
Ward against melee

420hp

20%skill recharge earth wand
20/20 Earth magic offhand.

Ward stays constant. A slight reduction on spam ability but lke it not fast enough as it is.lol
The wards keep the spirits well protected. i usually run 2 wards one over my spirits in case and one in main agro.

The ritualist is extremely strong, able to change the face of dmg manipulation.
I do not see much point in nerfing the protection ability of a rt but the rt is equily powerful in spirit mastery and as a channeling spiker or even the new minion bomber.
Some of these abilities require worked over.
By far the most powerful class out there.

i tried making my own little aoe build with ritualist. still in the making (my rit is lvl 13), so tell me what u think. its basically a mix of strong channeling and earth aoe to deal some up-close damage.

11+4 channeling
12 earth
6+1 restoration

ancestor's rage
aftershock
spirit rift
grasping was kuurong (e)
armor of earth
glyph of leser
generous was tsungrai
res sig/destruction

the whole plan is to glyph up, then cast grasping. get a little close to an enemy, then cast spirit rift. time ur dropping of grasping with spirit rift's explosion, making a tiny spike. since everyone is knocked down, go with the aftershock to add on damage, and then the ancestor's rage for some more damage. of course ur supposed to have armor of earth on, and if u feel like it, cast destruction in the background.

crits please! i was hopin this build would be good.

If your going to dring destruction bring rupture soul. boost spawning a bit and kill destruction just before it dies. i have a hybrid build of protection/ destruction spikes... and they hit for 280dmg aoe slightly spamable about every 7-10 seconds once spirits are down. ( draw spirit is of great benifit here ).
so hmmm what would happen if you ran stronger channeling and spawning.lol

Pretty sure wards don't protect spirits. Wells work on them though.

But spirits and wards are still a good combo.

I can confirm wards do work on spirits. they protect mine from physical only time and time again.. (Arrows are piercing dmg now which is not physical dmg. )
An archer is one of your spirits worst enemies. shard throwers as well.
Earth dmg seems to wipe them out worst or all ( aftershock, earthquake, etc )
but managed right they change the way a groups sustains dmg.

I still say Ritualist is by far the most powerful of all the classes.
